A person must be born again. Jesus tells this to a religious teacher who approaches him. It’s not given as a suggestion but as a divine mandate. A person cannot get into heaven without this. Being born again (regeneration) is the Holy Spirit giving new life to a person. Our forgiveness and the promises of God hinge on this.
