Great Expectations – John 12:9-19

The crowd had heard many things about Jesus. Some had seen his miracles, others had heard his teachings. But people throughout the region had heard of his ministry. It was a tough time for Jewish people living within the Roman Empire. There was oppression from the government. And at the time of Passover, there was undoubtedly question of if Jesus was the promised Messiah. He was. But he wasn’t what the crowd thought. He didn’t fit into their box.

2,000 years later, we still struggle to come to grips with who Jesus is and what he did.
