My first Buckeye game, 20 years later

On this day 20 years ago, I went to my first ever Ohio State football game. They beat Purdue 48-14 that afternoon. Since that day I’ve been to about 60 or so games. I wasn’t a big football fan before that first game. I learned more about the game over the next year and was a die hard Buckeye by the end of the 1995 season. I’ve had the opportunity to go to 4 Michigan games (all wins), OSU’s first overtime game (Illinois ’02), the game where Eddie George broke the single game rushing record (Illinois ’95). I went to seven games in their national championship season. I’ve been to six Big Ten stadiums. I’ve seen them play every Big Ten team (with the exception of new member Maryland). Even though it was a loss, I was part of the amazing crowd when they hosted USC. I’ve seen script Ohio’s, epic marching band performances. No matter where I live, Ohio State will always be the only team I truly care about.
