Podcast: Dr. Joshua Jipp and New Testament theology

What is the unifying theme of the New Testament? In his award winning book “The Messianic Theology of New Testament,” Dr. Joshua Jipp argues “The central argument of this book is that the messianic identity of Jesus of Nazareth is not only the presupposition for, but is also the primary (though certainly not exclusive) content of, New Testament theology.”

While it’s a subject which is often overlooked in churches and the popular Christian culture, in this episode of Today’s Faith Matters, we a rich and robust theology of understanding that Jesus is the Messiah is important to our understanding of the New Testament.

Dr. Jipp is a New Testament scholar and professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Past works of Dr. Jipp include “Christ is King: Paul’s Royal Ideology” and “Saved by Faith and Hospitality.”
