Indiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia, and Florida all have proposed laws which would either compel or encourage schools to offer elective classes on the Bible.

No book has influenced America and western civilization as much as the Bible. It is foundational to our laws, ethics, and worldview. It’s references and allusions in film, literature and art are innumerable. The Bible influences our language. Many of our most beloved stories play on Biblical themes.

Debate over origins: Nye vs Ham

nye
Ken Ham who’s a Christian young earth creation apologist, the founder of the Creation Museum, and Answers in Genesis website debated famed science educator and television personality, Bill Nye at the Creation Museum tonight. The topic was: Is creation a viable model of origins in today’s modern, scientific era?

To be fair, I’m not a scientist. I’m not going to pretend to be an expert. Some of the hot button issues against young earth creationism pertain to the age of the earth, the flood, and evolution. I do consider myself to be an intelligent person and I am a conservative, evangelical Christian who does believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God. I disagree with the idea of the earth being thousands of years old, and favor the belief that it is hundreds of millions or billions of years old.

Ohio State basketball: why it’s time to panic

On Saturday, the Ohio State basketball team lost to Michigan State by 10, snapping a 39 game home winning streak. The Bucks shot just 26 percent from the field, their worst home shooting night in 15 years. It was their third loss in conference play, and despite the fact that this team is still ranked in the top six, I think their longterm prospects of success in March are highly questionable.

Don’t get me wrong. I believe that this team is going to continue to succeed and win games. I still think that they will win the conference and that they will be a 1 or a 2 seed in the NCAA tournament,. I’m not worried about any of that. I’m not suggesting their suddenly going to tank.
