Eternal functional subordination, also known as Eternal Submission of the Son, also known as Eternal Relationships of Authority and Submission is a subject which has seen increasing debate over the last several years within Evangelical circles.

The Doctrine of the Trinity has sparked debates throughout the history of the church. Multiple councils met in the early centuries of the church to weigh in on these significant doctrinal issues.
